The one thing that is scary about this brand new always-connected world is how quickly fan feedback can turn into unmet expectations. What happened with Adventure Time and MLP (and years ago Buffy/Angel) can translate into fans becoming disenchanted with other projects that are not as quick to adopt fan-created ideas or content. In the 90's we waited up to 3 months for the next issue of self-published comics and we liked it! >:D
